Tissues

Unit of similarly formed cells.

The forms of tissues range from simple cell colonies (in the case of some algae), the thalli of higher developed algae and mosses, the plectenchymes of fungi to the complex tissues of vascular plants and higher animals. (The figure shows a typical epidermatic tissue of animals.)
