Part of the mesozoic period between 205 and 135 million years before today. During this time, the gymnosperms finally dominated plant life on the main land. The dinosaurs had conquered the main land, the sea (in the form of various marine dinosaurs) and the air (in the form of various pterosaurs). The first birds evolved starting from relatives of such pterosaurs.
