Neutrons

Electrically uncharged constituents of the atomic nucleus.

Because neutrons are uncharged, they have no influence on the (electrically negatively charged) electronic sheath, i.e. no influence on the chemical properties of atoms. Atoms with a differing number of neutrons but an identical number of protons therefore make part of the same chemical element and are called isotopes. Isotopes only differ in their masses.
