Systematic unit ( taxonomy).

Important divisions of plants are the fungi, various divisions of algae, the mosses, pteridophytes and seed plants. In the case of animals, the respective taxonomic level is called "phylum". Important phyla are worms, molluscs, articulates, echinoderms and a phylum containing the vertebrates.
