Stigma

The stigma is a part of the (pistil), the female reproductive organ of angiosperms. Male pollen grains, which have fallen to the stigma are forming pollen tubes growing across the stylus, versus the ovules within the ovary. There, male and female germ cells are fusing, initiating seed formation.
