Wood sorrel family (Oxalidaceae)

The members (about 950) of this family are populating the temperate zones (for example wood sorrel, Oxalis acetosella) as well as the tropics.

Although the clover-like fingered leaves of wood sorrel suggest a relation to the fabaceae, the family is rather related to the geraniaceae or linaceae. The figure shows a flower from wood sorrel (Oxalis acetosella).
