When communicating with your scientific colleagues, conciseness is everything! Only few scientist have time (and motivation) to study lengthy texts. An illustration or a (short!) video may be more suitable to capture attention. In many cases simple 2D-animations are clearer and more significant than 3D-animation. (In addtion, they are less expensive.)
