Crucifers (Brassicaceae)

Predominantly herbaceous plants, populating the northern hemisphere except of the tropical zones. The family contains a number of weeds of cultivation, agricultural plants (cabbage (Brassica oleracea), rape (Brassica napus)) and ornamental plants (wallflowers (Erysimum), candytufts (Iberis)). The figure shows flowers of lady´s smock (Cardamine pratensis).
